Currently it takes some minutes after a newly created recent item (e.g. on the iPhone) is available on the desktop. Thus I'm wondering if I can simply initiate a poll to get all new recent items on demand on the desktop (but without syncing the current clipboard content from the desktop to the server). I would appreciate if the popup dialog (showing the history) would initiate an asynchronous sync poll in the background.

Our current use-case is as follows:

1. Add a recent item on the iPhone that should be made available on the desktop
2. Wait after the balloon tip on the desktop indicates that the item was retrieved
3. Use the item on the desktop ...

It would be nice if the user can manually trigger the polling (step 2) to avoid waiting for the incoming changes.

You can actually trigger a sync for Recent/Pinned items by right-clicking the tray icon, and navigating to Recent Items > Refresh :)

We could technically trigger a refresh of the online items when the Quick History menu opens too, but the menu would then take longer to open while it waits for the sync.

We could likely add a hotkey to trigger a refresh though. Would that work for you?

Yes, a hotkey for triggering the refresh would help a lot. On the other hand you can introduce a menu item to the popup menu that can be choosen to refresh the lists as well. This would avoid any delay and provide the user an easy option to manually trigger the refresh directly from the popup menu (which should not be closed but updated after the refresh).

Ok perfect! It's not really possible to keep the context menu open after selecting an item, but we can definitely add hotkeys to refresh the items, and we'll add Macro functions for this as well, so that you could have a Macro that can do a refresh, then open the menu, and have that all run from a single hotkey.

I'll let you know as soon as the next version is available :)

Thanks!

We've just released a new version of ClipboardFusion, and we've added a new hotkey in the settings called "Sync All Online Items," which will grab the latest items without syncing your current clipboard data.

Thanks!
