Is it possible to multi select items for removal? I know how to remove individual items and how to clear all items.

Don't think it is there. And should it be introduced ... better an item check box and a context menu ... not only removing the selection, but also the possibility to paste them together and other "actions", such as move to Pinned List et cetera.
