I just installed CBF on a fresh installation of Win7 Home Premium x64. When I try to run a macro, I get the following error:

Failed to run Macro.
Check Failed: Assembly can't compile. [Test Macro]
Compile Failed:
Line 0: "Metadata file 'System.Web.dll' could not be found"

This happens with every macro I try, both the example code and downloaded ones. Guessing that it's a .NET problem I've installed and reinstalled various .NET versions, and run a Microsoft .NET repair assistant, to no avail. System.web.dll is present under C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 and C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled both CBF 3.5 and 4.0 - the problem remains.

I'd appreciate help with sorting this out, macros is one of the most useful functions in CBF!

Have you tried with .NET 4.5 as well? If it's still not working with that, could you send us a debug log for this issue?
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal"
  • Restart ClipboardFusion
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the %%APPDATA%%\ClipboardFusion\ClipboardFusion.log file (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

Thank you, I got it to work. I did one more desperate attempt, completely removing .NET 4.5 and then reinstalling. Just reinstalling earlier did not work. Weirdness. As an aside, I was not sure which version of .NET CBF uses - the download page only says my computer met the requirements. It would be useful if it actually listed the .NET version, would make troubleshooting easier :)

Awesome, glad to hear it! And thanks for the heads up about the download page. We'll check that out :)
