I may just be missing something, but I can't find a detailed description of how to using the syncing feature between devices. Here is what I am trying to do:

Copy text on my iPhone
Paste that text on my computer

What steps do I need to take to do that? Can it be automated? For some reason, I cannot get the copied text to show up at all or paste on my computer, even though I think I am trying to sync.

Hopefully this is easy, I am just missing it. Thanks!

Hi,

Coincidentally, I have exactly the same question!

+1 looking for instruction for this :)

By the way...

I managed to do it by "Pinning" some text that I'd copied on the iPhone (which then syncs to the PC) but that's quite a long way of doing it with too many clicks required!

The current version can't monitor the clipboard in realtime, so you need to open the app and click the "+" icon to add the text. It should then sync over to the computer with the next sync.

We're hoping to add realtime clipboard polling to the app in the future :)

Thanks!

Thank you Keith.

Within the iOS app... I assume the + icon you're referring to is in "Recent Items" (as opposed to "Pinned items"?)

I manually add my copied text on the iPhone to "Recent Items" and then I go back to Windows. I wait a little while (20 seconds) and then try pasting... but I don't automatically get the item added in "Recent Items" on my iPhone.

I have to right-click over the CF system tray icon, go to "Recent Items" and then select the text which has successfully sync'ed across from the iPhone (via my BF account). I can then paste it from the clipboard.

This is workable (and saves time emailing myself etc) but should the text from the iPhone automatically go to the clipboard on the PC / is there a way to do it?

Thanks in advance
Al.

You're using the correct method at the moment. The item will sync over, but it needs to be selected before it gets put on the clipboard. There is a quicker way to paste though. If you assign a hotkey to the "Show Quick History Menu" hotkey in the Settings window, you can put the mouse cursor in a text box, press the hotkey, then select your item from the Recent/Pinned items, and it will automatically paste it in the text box :)

Hope that helps!

Again, maybe I am missing something, but this does not work for me. Here is what I am doing:

1. Copy text on an iPhone
2. Go into the app and click the "+"
3. Copied text in 1 now appears in Recent Items in app
4. Go to the desktop app. The copied text is nowhere
5. Click "Refresh" on Recent Items in desktop app. Nothing new shows up.
6. Go to "Clipboard Syncing" and click "Sync Current Clipboard Text Now" Nothing new shows up.

I can't find any way to get the text over to the desktop. Even when Windows send me a notification that Clipboard Fusion has updated with text from my iPhone, I still have no way to access it or paste it. Very frustrating.

That's strange! If you restart ClipboardFusion on the desktop after you get the notification, does the synced Recent Item show up?

Yes. If I do the refresh on the desktop and get the desktop notification, the copied text from the iPhone does not show in desktop recent items. If I close Clipboard Fusion and restart it, the copied item then shows up in the desktop recent items.

I should also add that items copied on the desktop show up nearly instantaneously on the iPhone app.

Ok, it looks like that's a bug unfortunately. The good news is that we've been able to fix it up internally, and the fix will be included in the next version of ClipboardFusion :)

Thanks!

Thanks! Any timeline on that release?

I believe we're hoping to get the first beta out before the end of the year, but don't quote me on that :)

Does this beta fix the syncing problem? If so, how do I most easily paste text on my computer copied from my iPhone? What are the steps to do that?

We haven't added push syncing to the desktop yet, but we did fix the issue with the syncing interval and the recent items not refreshing properly after a sync. On the Settings > Clipboard Syncing tab, you can now set the Poll Interval to 1 minute, and if you manually refresh now, the items will show up right away.

Is there a way to set a keyboard shortcut for manual syncing?

Hello,

We currently only support online syncing for text, but we do have a feature request open for images. I've added your vote to it, so we'll be sure to let you know if we have any news on it in the future.

Thanks!

At the risk of setting myself up here, I would be happy to pay for the capability to paste on Desktop things recently copied on iPhone or iPad.
