Since installing 5.9 Beta 1 yesterday there is a noticeable delay between selecting an item from the clipboard manager window and the item getting pasted, about a one second delay.

Doesn't matter what program it was copied from, or being pasted to, nor if I select with the mouse or keyboard.

Attached is a log where I pasted the 1st item from the clipboard manager into Notepad.

Only tried with text before, just tested with a small image and get the same delay.

Once it's in Windows the clipboard it pastes with Ctrl+V instantly as usual, it's just from the clipboard manager.

Get the same delay if I select the 1st item multiple times, so it's not dependant on where it is in the list, but have noticed the delay in not all the time but about 70% of the time I would say.

I went back to 5.8.6 and the issue went, no matter how many times I selected an item it pasted immediately.
Did check for updates & let it install 5.9 beta 1 and the issue returned.

Have just tested this on a 2nd PC, and it has the delay but much less frequently, and also more when using the mouse to select an item, whereas on my main PC it's with the keyboard & mouse the delay happens.

Yes I think you have found it there.
If I enable "Keep clipboard manager open" the issue goes away, and comes back again if I turn it back off.

Have noticed while using 5.9 all day, that when an item is chosen from the manager, the manager window will close, then very quickly show & close again!

Wasn't sure if I was imagining it, but have just watched and it does this every time, not a big thing, more of an annoyance when you catch it out the corner of you eye.

Also just found that enabling the "Keep Clipboard Manager open after losing focus" no longer keeps it open, but does stop the double-opening as above!

Hmmm okay, something is odd about the behaviour now.

I left the "Keep Clipboard Manager open after losing focus" enabled as it stopped the double flash of the window but would actually close (as my post above)

Switch on this morning and the manager window now stays open.
Disable the keep open option and the double flash is back.

Only setting I've changed back & forth was the "Keep window open" option.

I've just let my personal laptop update to 5.9 and it too has the double flash going on.

The only thing common between my work laptop & my personal laptop is they both run Windows 10.

Thanks for the update & new beta.
I've updated to 5.9.1 Beta 1, and some good news & not so good!

The double-flash has gone if I select an item with the mouse, but it still happens if I use shortcuts 1-0 on the keyboard.

Sorry to say I have also noticed that the delay in pasting is now back in the 5.9.1 beta.
The delay happens selecting using both the mouse or keyboard.

I have just rolled back to 5.9 and the delay is gone!
