Immediately after I updated Windows with 2025-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5050021) I noticed that Clipboard Fusion 6.2 no longer kept text copied from Chrome's incognito tabs in its history.

This also affects Window's own clipboard history (Win+V). Text copied in Microsoft Edge's InPrivate tabs also isn't added to either clipboard's history.

When copying from private tabs, ClipboardFusion and Windows Clipboard only have access to the last thing that was copied, which doesn't appear in their viewable clipboard history lists.

My ClipboardFusion macros that operate on the current clipboard text still work properly from text copied in an incognito window. I've made other macros that pull from ClipboardFusion's clipboard history and those can't work.

I think it does make sense that content copied from a private browser tab would be hidden from clipboard histories. But this is a change of behavior I wasn't expecting and don't want. It very likely has something to do with this Windows update.

I have that update installed here and it seems to work fine. Do you have any app exceptions created for Chrome or Edge?

I am also facing the issue that Clipboard History is not working in Private Browsing Mode of both Firefox and Chrome.
I don't think this is because of the Windows update, as I haven't updated my windows for a few months. I am on Windows 10 22H2 19045.5011 (October 2024). But it's probably because of something done from the browsers side.

Once I copy something, I can paste it using Ctrl+V, but it's not in CF history.

Same thing is also happening in when copying from pdf files in Chrome, but not in firefox. The same issue replicated in Brave as well, a chromium based browser.

I don't remember from exactly when this is happening, but I think the issue started from December 2024 or January 2025.

Can you please see to it.
I am using CF v6.2.

I am able to copy from regular tabs, and it do show up in the CF history. Also, chrome and firefox aren't mentioned CF's Application Exceptions settings. Only default/factory set exceptions are there.

Could you send me a debug log? Here are the steps:

  • On the ClipboardFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal"
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply.
I am sharing the debug info file.
I tried copying from the pdf file open in Brave browser just after starting logging.

I also pasted the copied text using Ctrl+v successfully.
But the copied text wasn't in CF history.

Thanks for sending that over. Can you try the following:

1. In the ClipboardFusion Settings > App Exceptions tab, add in your browser to the "Process Filename" match condition
2. Under "Clipboard Formats", click Add > Add default ignore formats
3. Delete the "CanIncludeInClipboardHistory" entry
4. Click Ok and see if the issue persists

No, that doesn't fix the issue.

If it may help,
When copying from pdf open in google docs, like this: https://drive.google.com/viewerng/viewer?url=<url> copied text do appear in the CF history. But not when directly opening a pdf in browser's pdf viewer.

Strange, that seems to fix it here. Can you send me a screenshot of your app exceptions?
