Hi,

Is there any way for CF to retain the clipboard entries (not counting what it has uploaded to online tab) after a reboot of PC or restarting the CF application?

Thanks

The History list should be retained between reboots. Is it getting cleared every time you reboot?

Yup, not only that. But even if I right click CF and select exit and re-open the app, it says No Items..

Kindly try it at your end, maybe you might be able to reproduce it as well.

Which version of ClipboardFusion? That's expected in 4.2, but definitely not in the 5.0 Betas.

Edit: To clarify, I have definitely tried this in the latest 5.0 Beta, and my History is saved :)

Hi Keith,

That's weird. Kindly find a video that shows me copying data, looking up the data & then finally exiting CF and reopening it with no items :(

Lol, sorry about the amount of videos I am uploading hehehe

Thanks

P.S: Using CF Pro v5 Beta 8

No worries, the videos are helpful!

On the Settings > Clipboard History tab, what are the "Clear History Items older than" and "Maximum number of items in Clipboard History" options set to?

Hey Keith,

The settings are set to 5 days and 40 items, respectively.

Thanks

Ok, that should be fine. Could you backup your settings and attach them here?

Also, could you check the %localappdata%\ClipboardFusion folder to see if the "clipboardfusion.db" gets deleted and recreated when you restart?

Please find the backup file attached.

Regarding the DB creation, kindly note that it does not get re-created it only gets modified. Attaching a screenshot for Creation Date.

Thanks

Thanks! No issues here using your settings. On a restart of ClipboardFusion, the History data is still there.

Couple of things to try:
  • Exit ClipboardFusion, delete the ClipboardFusion.db file, start ClipboardFusion
  • Enable debug logging, restart ClipboardFusion, and send us the debug log (steps below)

Debug logging steps:
  • On the ClipboardFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Restart ClipboardFusion
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the %APPDATA%\ClipboardFusion\ClipboardFusion.log file (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks Keith. No need for the logs, deleting the DB and running CF again resolved it :) I think the DB got corrupted somehow during the Beta 7 -> 8 update.
