Hi
Long time DF user, trying out CF. Many times, I do NOT want to scrub text. I have set text scrubbing mode to "disabled", which I'd have thought would have turned it off altogether. However, a left double-click on the tray icon causes a text scrub of all items in the clipboard. So...
1. Can you make it possible to turn off text scrubbing completely? Or at least not invoke it so easily?
2. I think it'd be great to be able to hover over the tray icon to popup the menu (currently that requires a right click); maintaining, of course, the ability to then select the desired item in the popup using the left mouse button. Don't know if that's possible. For most of my tray icons, hovering brings up an info box that vanishes if you try to click on it; but hovering over one of my tray icons (Roboform) opens a search box that the user can click directly inside, then enter text....

Hi Jon
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try to make my requests / suggestions clearly:
1. In Settings / Text Scrubbing, selecting the Mode Disabled does NOT disable text scrubbing -- it disables AUTOMATIC text scrubbing. That's not clear from the setting name, so maybe the setting should be renamed, to something like "Scrub all clipboard text on double-click left mouse button".
2. At the moment, this double-left-click scrubbing cannot be turned off, and - since we're all conditioned to double-click on lots of things - it's all too easy to inadvertently scrub all clipboard text. Renaming the setting as described above would describe things more accurately -- but I think it'd be helpful to allow the user to turn off this double-left-click scrubbing altogether.
To address both of the above, maybe on the Text Scrubbing settings page you could have one check box named "Activate automatic scrubbing". If you select it, you can then choose (in second-level checkboxes) HOW to achieve it (fully auto / only on double copy). Then below that have another top-level checkbox named "Allow manual scrubbing", and, if selected, allow the user to select HOW to achieve that (by double click on tray icon / via popup menu / by hotkey (or whatever)). That way, someone like me could leave both of the "top level" boxes unchecked, and this would completely disable scrubbing.
3. I think (hope) my suggestion re/ hovering was already clear enough; it would be nice if hovering opened a functional popup. Having thought about it a tad more, it would ALSO be nice to be able to customize things so that, for example, a single left click on the tray icon could open (say) the history... At the moment you have to right click / hover-select-click.
Thanks, & all the best
